Short Description:

254 SMO (UNS S31254) is an austenitic stainless steel that is compatible with other austenitic stainless steels and is designed with high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen for maximum pitting and crevice corrosion resistance.This alloy is mainly chromium–molydenum–nickel alloy with nitrogen always as an added element; the approximate composition is: Cr 20%–22%, Mo 6%–7%, Ni 18%–20%, and nitrogen increasing its strength and corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride-bearing environments such as in seawater, working in paper, pulp, and chemical industries.
